New Date: TBD (Hoping for Oct 21)
This morning (Sept 22nd) the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Management and the Recreation and Parks department, in response to the Tropical Storm approaching, pulled all approved permits for the Rev3 Mighty Matapeake event. This means that the 2023 Rev3 Mighty Matapeake events will NOT occur tomorrow, September 23rd.
TWO PLANS
1) We are trying to see if a schedule change for later in October (October 21st) would be allowed with our current permits and hopefully this will be allowed. We know that this may not work for everyone, which is why anyone not able to compete on this date would be given a deferral of their cost to ANY REV3 event, for the remainder of 2023 and in to 2024.
We will communicate, next week, if this is a possibility.
2) If a schedule change cannot happen, all participants will receive a credit for their registration paid, that can be used at any REV3 event. This will include any of our owned swims, bikes, runs or triathlons, for the remainder of the 2023 season, and in to 2024.
DEFERRAL PAYMENTS
For those of you who opted for the deferral for the event this year, we will refund back your deferral fee, as most of those were done in the past few days and we have access to those funds. You should see those refunds in the next 10 days.
REFUNDS
Unfortunately there are no refunds for this event, as per our refund agreement and waivers. All materials have been bought and paid for, as well as services. This is an unfortunate turn of events, with the weather, but safety of all involved takes precedence. You will be afforded the opportunity to use your registration for another event, and hope that you can find one that fits within your schedule. We plan on putting out our full 2024 schedule within the next month.
We regret that this decision had to be made, but we agree with the decisions of the county, and hope that we are able to reschedule for later this year. We will let everyone know in the next week, if that is possible.
